Hilary and Vincent Win PATH Intl. Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Vincent and Hilary have been selected as 2024 PATH Intl. award winners!

The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH Intl.) takes great pride in the exceptional credentialed professionals, volunteers, equines, veterinarians, staff, and participants who ensure delivery of, and participate in, high-quality equine-assisted services (EAS) at PATH Intl. Member Centers.

PATH Intl. CEO Kathy Alm said, “The PATH Intl. awards program is an important way to celebrate the quality, professional, safety-oriented programs delivered by PATH Intl. credentialed professionals and centers that help participants across the globe reach their wellness, personal and professional goals through equine-assisted services. It is an honor to recognize the accomplishments of these awardees and shine a light on the meaningful impacts they each have in their communities.”

We are deeply honored at NWTRC to have two special award winners acknowledged for their contributions this year.

International Credentialed Professional of the Year -2024

Hilary Groh

From PATH Intl: “We’re thrilled to congratulate Hilary Groh of NorthWest Therapeutic Riding Center on being named this year’s PATH Intl. Credentialed Professional of the Year!

Here’s what one parent had to say about Hilary:

"Hilary has always treated my child with care and respect. She consistently considers my child's specific needs and adapts quickly to them. There are no words to describe how important and influential Hilary has been to my child and our family. Her work with my child and the horses has been transformative, leading to significant progress in both physical and emotional development. It is clear that Hilary places her love of the work, the horses, and the clients at the forefront of everything she does. My child's regulation, both physically and emotionally after each session, is yet further proof of her skill and care."

Congratulations, Hilary, and thank you for making such a meaningful difference!”

Region 9 Equine of the Year -2024

Vincent

From an NWTRC parent: “My autistic adult daughter has been riding at the center for 10 years. Over the last 5 years she has been exclusively riding Vincent.

As with most autistic “kids” change is very hard, confusing and frustrating. In the case of the change to riding Vincent my daughter experienced none of these feelings. There seemed to be an immediate connection between the two of them.

Over the years therapeutic riding has helped my daughter be more confident, more responsible, have better posture, have better balance, better focus and be excited about learning about riding and horses. Her interaction with Vincent have expanded these lessons and continues to keep her excited about riding and learning.

Vincent is patient, kind, well trained and beautiful. A true asset to the herd, the center and to all the riders”.
