Meet NWTRC intern, Mikaela!

Hello! My name is Mikaela K. and I am a dedicated student currently pursuing a degree in Recreation Management and Leadership at Western Washington University, with a focused interest in therapeutic recreation. I am excited and grateful to be able to combine my passion for horses and helping others through the means of horseback riding and horsemanship skills. I have experienced the therapeutic benefits horses can offer in my own life and cannot wait to share this with others. As an intern with the NorthWest Therapeutic Riding Center, I am looking forward to enhancing my skills and expanding my knowledge in the field. I am beyond grateful to be a part of this community and am committed to providing a positive learning environment for all. When I’m not around horses, I enjoy spending time in the mountains hiking, camping, and bird-watching with my family and our two dogs.
