Personnel

NWTRC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and managed by a small professional staff. The staff is augmented by over 100 volunteers annually who further support our daily operations.

Julia Bozzo

Julia Bozzo, Founder, Executive Director, and PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor 
Julia has a BS in Agriculture and Horse Production from Wilmington College and graduate work in Animal Science at New Mexico State University. Julia is a PATH Intl. Certified Instructor, a certified Equine appraiser, has ridden and worked with horses and riders for over 40 years.

Hilary Groh

Hilary began riding when she was 5 years old, and since then has competed on the Hunter/ Jumper circuit, trained sales prospects, and taught lessons in both Western and English. Throughout the years, Hilary has developed a great passion and enthusiasm for teaching and facilitating relationships between horses and riders. Hilary has a BA in Therapeutic Recreation from Western Washington University; is a nationally Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, a PATH Intl. Advanced Instructor and Mentor. 

Sierra Aubel

Sierra Aubel, PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Sierra started volunteering at NWTRC in 2015 and quickly found she loved the community and began training to become a PATH Intl. instructor. Sierra passed her Registered Instructor certification in August 2017. Sierra loves animals and working with people. She graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Biology and Anthropology from Western Washington University, she currently works full time at Mountain Vet Hospital and is in the process of becoming a Licensed Vet Technician. 

Nota Tsitsiragos

Nota Tsitsiragos, PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Nota started volunteering at NWTRC in 2016. In 2018, she completed a 560-hour therapeutic recreation internship and began training to become a PATH Intl. instructor. Nota graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Therapeutic Recreation in June 2019 and passed her Registered Instructor certification in September 2019. Nota is presently working as an Individualized Support Teacher at a developmental preschool and is studying to take the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist exam in May 2019.

Deanna Bozzo

Deanna became a PATH International Certified Instructor in October 2014. Deanna graduated from Western Washington University in 2014 with a BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Deanna received a Master's degree Speech-Language Pathology from Western Washington University in 2017 and now works for the Nooksack School District as an SLP.

Gina Bozzo

Gina passed her Registered Instructor certification in August 2015 and is now pursuing a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy at Eastern Washington University.
